What do we stand for?
One population
Our Group was organized in 1948, gathering a repertoire of songs and dances representative of the island of Madeira.
One period
The songs, dances and costumes we represent refer to the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. However, they evoke reminiscences dating back to the time of the island's colonization in the 15th century.
One culture
It is our mission to collect, preserve and spread the popular culture of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
